Mandela Day charity event
The Cape Quarter in Green Point will be playing host to a fantastic charity event on Mandela Day on Wednesday 18th July. Cape Quarter Spar are driving this initiative in support of the great man himself and in aid of a local children’s charity – Homestead.
From 11 – 5pm on Wednesday the 18th July various pancake stations will be setup throughout the Cape Quarter where people will have the chance to cook, buy and sell pancakes. Alongside this a raffle will take place in the days leading up to the event where entrants can purchase tickets for R5 each offering a combined prize to the value of R6,700 and a host of additional spot prizes.
The main prize constitutes:
- A weekend stay at Cape Quarter Living for two people value to the value of R3200
- Cape Quarter Food SPAR voucher to the value of R2000
- Dinner for 10 at Andiamo restaurant to the value of R1500
One hundred semi-finalists will be drawn and contacted on Mandela Day with the grand announcement taking place at the after-party on the eve of Mandela Day on the Cape Quarter piazza just outside Andiamo restaurant.
The Village Market will also be running stalls across the Cape Quarter on the day from 12:00 – 17:00 with a concert performance from 14:00-15:00.
Most importantly all ingredients are sponsored and every penny raised through pancake and raffle ticket sales will be donated to the Homestead charity – supporting street children.
